The following grants were awarded in the AASU Research and Scholarship Committee’s 2001-2002 grant competition:

 Maryellen Cosgrove, early childhood education. A Comparison of Efficacy Between Alternatively Prepared and Traditionally Prepared First-Year Teachers. $2475.00.

 Mark Finlay, history. Thomas Edison and the Search for a Domestic Rubber Crop, 1914-1945. $1850.00.

 Rachel Green, art, music and theatre. A Collaborative Art Exhibit in Mexico. $2500.00.

 Karen Hollinger, languages, literature and philosophy. Studying Contemporary Actresses. $1820.00.

 Andreas Koth, health and physical education. Preferred and Perceived Leadership Behaviors and Level of Satisfaction of Male and Female College Players from Individual and Team Sports. $320.00.

 Will Lynch, chemistry and physics. Studies on the Degradation of Wood with Application to Bioremidiation. $1070.00.

 Jill Miller, art, music and theatre. The African-American Press and the St. Louis World’s Fair. $1800.00.

 Delana Nivens, chemistry and physics. Development of Sol-gel Photocatalysts for Marine Water Pollutant Degradation. $1800.00.

 Vann Scott, psychology, and Andreas Koth, health and physical education. Mood and Rumination Effects of Athletic Performance. $2150.00.

 Michael Toma, economics. Economic Development and Minor League Baseball. $2500.00.
